Buyer, intermediary and factory roles

hydraulic freight elevator

Freight Elevator Sourcing turns a hydraulic freight elevator request into one written brief several factories can answer. We compare named exclusions, not a headline machine price. We are not the manufacturer and we do not publish a ranked factory list.

Each factory quote should separate equipment, freight, pit work, anchors, electrical and commissioning. If a reply mixes those lines without saying so, treat it as incomplete. The desk restates the buyer inputs; commercial acceptance still sits with you and the named supplier.

What this desk compares

Brief intake

Rated capacity, car size, lift height, pit depth, hydraulic power or three-phase supply, quantity and destination.

Factory matching

Ask factories that publish the same family to answer the same units. A dealer list is not proof the quoted car fits the shaft.

Quote comparison

Line up capacity basis, travel, doors, packing and named extras. Missing pit work is not a cheaper machine.

Document request

After a match, ask the named factory for drawings, nameplate units and exclusion lists. Those files are not this desk's certificates.

Procurement situation: two hydraulic quotes with different pit extras

Procurement situation: mixed extras

This is a worked example, not a completed project. Factory A quotes a hydraulic freight elevator car and power unit. Factory B quotes a lower machine line that silently omits the cylinder, oil line and pit steel. The desk asks both parties to restate the same exclusions before anyone treats the second number as a saving.

No customer name, plant count or percentage is attached to this situation. Public supplier-discovery pages show a search and RFQ pattern with project notes; that is a directory observation, not evidence this desk already ran that path for a named buyer.

Procurement situation: nameplate versus application

A 6,000 lb nameplate can fail a pallet-plus-pallet-jack load if the load center sits farther from the car wall than the factory assumed. The brief should state the application load, pallet size and whether a rider or jack travels with the load. See the plant case inputs when the building changes the specification.

Read units before quotes so each factory uses the same lb or kg basis. The desk does not convert a marketing nameplate into an approved duty class.
